Workshop Offerings

Embodied learning that deepens connection with ourselves, each other, and our work

Clinical Framework

Informed by contemporary research in interpersonal neurobiology, guided by somatic attachment psychotherapy, and grounded in clinical practice. I offer customized training and educational sessions for organizations, clinical teams, and community groups aiming to integrate trauma-informed, somatic, and relational approaches into their work.

The Body Remembers: Trauma & Healing

This comprehensive workshop offers valuable insights into trauma and its impact on the healing process. Grounded in the latest research in interpersonal neurobiology, we’ll explore how trauma shapes both the brain and body, and how healing becomes possible through attuned, body-based support.

Combining didactic learning with experiential exercises, this training is designed to support deeper integration of knowledge. You'll leave with practical tools, an expanded understanding of trauma-informed principles, and greater confidence in supporting others through their healing journeys.

Key Learning Points

  • Neurobiology of Trauma - Understand how trauma impacts the brain, body, and nervous system

  • Polyvagal Theory - Explore the body's stress and threat responses through a nervous system lens

  • Window of Welcome - Learn how to recognize and support regulation for yourself and others

  • Recognizing Trauma - Identify signs and symptoms that may signal trauma responses

  • Creating Safe Spaces - Develop environments that support emotional and physiological safety

  • Holistic Healing - Embrace a whole-person approach to trauma recovery

  • The Self-Care Myth - Examine the role of co-regulation and relational healing

  • Neurosensory Exercises - Discover body-based practices that support nervous system regulation

  • Live Participation - Engage in live demonstrations of somatic, trauma-informed tools and techniques

My Body Remembers, Too: Vicarious Trauma

How do we stay open, compassionate, and present when faced with others’ pain and challenging behaviours, without becoming traumatized ourselves?

This semi-structured workshop invites participants to reflect on their own experiences while deepening their understanding of vicarious trauma, nervous system stress responses, and the personal cost of holding space for others. Through a combination of didactic learning and experiential practices, we will explore what it means to work within a trauma-informed framework, and how to care for ourselves while caring for others.

Key Learning Points

  • Neurobiology of Vicarious Trauma - Understand how the human threat response can manifest in your body and influence your work

  • Foundations of Early Development - Explore how early attachment and developmental experiences shape the way we relate and respond in helping roles

  • Personal History in Practice - Reflect on how your own lived experiences may be awakened or mirrored in your work with others

  • Trauma-Informed Practice - Deepen your understanding of trauma-informed principles and how to apply them in your role

  • Fostering Self-Compassion - Learn practices for cultivating self-compassion as a tool for sustainability, nervous system regulation, and inner steadiness

From Protection to Compassion: Navigating Trauma

How do we remain open when it hurts - meeting pain, shame, and conflict with compassion, and finding safety not through control, but through connection?

This workshop offers a framework for recognizing when we’re in defense and learning how to return to connection - cultivating the conditions for accountability, repair, and relational trust. Grounded in polyvagal theory, relational neurscience, and Iain McGilchrist’s work on the divided brain, we’ll explore how left-hemisphere dominance reinforces control and separation, and how right-hemisphere leadership restores relational presence and compassion.

Combining didactic teaching with guided reflection and somatic awareness practices, this training supports the development of compassionate accountability - in ourselves, our work, and our systems. Participants will learn to recognize when they’re in defense, re-orient toward safety, and meet pain - their own and others’ - with curiosity, care, and connection.

Key Learning Points

  • The Resistance & Protection Paradigm - Understand how fear and left-hemisphere dominance create rigid, control-based responses

  • The Acceptance & Compassion Paradigm - Explore what becomes possible when safety and right-hemisphere functioning come online

  • Neuroception of Safety - Learn how to recognize defensive states and re-establish physiological and relational safety

  • Compassion as Regulation - Discover how compassionate awareness calms the nervous system and expands reflective capacity

  • Accountability as Presence - Reframe accountability from punishment to repair, grounded in relational care

  • Cultural Blueprints of Compassion - Reflect on how compassion can reshape collective systems built on fear and control

  • Somatic Integration - Practice embodied tools for shifting from protection into connection
